"GEL KAYANO" is ASICS' representative running series, named after a legendary Japanese designer.
As technology advances, the brand has updated its lineup, with 30 models released to date. Past models have also been updated for lifestyle use, drawing renewed attention in the fashion scene.

This model is a tuned-up version of the "GEL-KAYANO 14" released in 2008 for urban use. The design was undertaken by Hidenori Yamashita, who took over from Kayano, and the series of movements that runners repeat, landing on their heels and pushing off with their toes, are likened to a series of "flashes." It is the first shoe to incorporate the shear deformation "GEL structure," and has been praised for its smooth cushioning as well as its high-tech visuals. In 2008, it also won the "INTERNATIONAL Editor's Choice" award from "RUNNER'S WORLD," an authoritative running magazine.
