A collection of works by Sam Chermayeff, an architect based in Berlin and New York.
The first edition, which was a softcover, was renewed, and the second edition was reissued as a hardcover.

This book is a look back at almost 20 years of experimental projects undertaken by the author and collaborators. We are rethinking and readjusting the use, appearance, and compatibility of furniture parts. However, these "CREATURES" are not simply conceptual. Built with everyday life in mind, it all starts with the idea that personal whims are perhaps the best guide to any design for everyday living.

The photographs included are linked to an essay contributed by Dieter Roelstraete, a writer and curator based in Berlin and Antwerp. Rorstrathe speaks to us through his author's work within the context of "thing theory," a thought focused on "human-object interactions." .
As we look at this work, we go back and forth between the author's perspective on "CREATURES" and Rohrtrate's consideration based on the nature of "things."

Cultural figures like philosopher Martin Heidegger, writer Francis Ponge, poet Marina Tsvetaeva and writer Karl Ove Knausgård I have written this book in relation to images and the indomitability of matter in our lives. Edited by Swiss curator and editor Moritz Küng.
