A collection of works by Italian fashion photographer Davide Sorrenti. This book is the author's first monograph, and is the first monograph published by IDEA, "Polaroids" (2020), " MY BEUTYFULL LYFE (2021). The first edition was sold out immediately, and the second edition was published in a small number, so strictly speaking it is the third edition . It has been reprinted with the same specifications as the first edition published with it.
Born into a family of Italian photographers, the artist, who was active in New York in the 1990s, formed " SKE (See Know Evil) " with his friends and developed tagging (*Note 1) throughout the city. Known for dating American actress Jamie King, this book also includes a portrait of King by the author. This portrait could be described as heroin chic (*2), but it should rather be understood as a visual record that symbolizes the love affairs in New York in the 1990s. The artist and his works, featured in the 2018 documentary film " See Know Evil " and the 2019 exhibition " Our Beutyfull Future ", can be said to embody this era.
Edited and designed by the author's mother, Francesca Sorrenti, each page is in bold style, featuring high fashion and street clashes, scraps from magazine pages, photos taken in photobooths, and thumbprints. From original prints, chaotic collages of daily life, doodles and drawings in sketchbooks, and contact sheets, you can feel the irresistible energy of 1990s New York. The author left this world at the age of 20 after creating an amazingly excellent work during a career of just a few years. This is a book about the 90's by an author who could not see the end of the 90's.
